Person found dead in Goochland woods
GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Deputies are investigating after a person was found dead in Goochland on Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday, March 15 at around 10:45 a.m., the Goochland County Sheriff's Office received a report of a possible deceased person in the woods near the 1600 block of Wilkes Ridge Parkway, located off of Broad Street.
Once on the scene, Deputies searched the area and found the body of an unknown individual. The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for identification and an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Initial investigation has revealed no signs of foul play, and there is no threat to the public.
