Person seriously hurt after multi-vehicle crash shuts down part of Laburnum Avenue in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One person has been seriously hurt in a multi-vehicle crash that shut down an intersection of Laburnum Avenue in Henrico County Thursday morning.

According to the Henrico County Police Division, all westbound lanes of Laburnum Avenue at the intersection with Harris Avenue will be closed for "several hours" on Thursday, April 2, due to a multi-vehicle crash with reported injuries.

Just before 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, police initially responded to the intersection of Laburnum Avenue and Mechanicsville Turnpike for a report of a multi-vehicle crash.

Police confirmed one person was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Crews are working to safely reopen the roadway.

Henrico Police’s Crash Investigations Team is currently on scene investigating the circumstances of this crash.

"It is still too early to determine who is at fault or if any charges are necessary," police said.
