Petersburg lifts conserve water alert after power outage
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Petersburg has lifted the conserve water alert on Saturday morning after what officials had been describing as an “unexpected system malfunction."
The morning of Saturday, Sept. 6, the city announced that the conserve water alert had been lifted, and that the water tanks have been fully refilled following a power outage.
According to city officials, the water is safe to drink and at full water pressure.
The night of Friday, Sept 5, Petersburg residents and businesses were asked to use as little water as possible due to an “unexpected system malfunction."
Just after 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, Petersburg officials said that it needs all city residents and businesses to conserve water “until further notice” due to an “unexpected system malfunction.”
