Petersburg residents’ tax bills will soon look a little different
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Petersburg residents will soon notice a change in how their tax bills look as the city makes a change in its tax billing process. In a Nov. 4 press release, the city of Petersburg announced that, starting this month, it will outsource some of its tax billing services to DIVCO Data. This company will now handle the printing and mailing of real estate and personal property tax bills. This change will make for "more efficient and reliable services for Petersburg customers," according to the city. "The contracted system will prevent past issues, such as double billings and other technical problems," the city said in the release. "The City appreciates customers' understanding as we transition to improved services." The city provided samples of the new bills, which are shown above. The online payment portal, which allows customers to view and pay their bills, can still be found here. It is accessible from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day. If you need assistance making such payments, you can call 804-733-2322 or email treasurer@petersburg-va.org.
