8News spoke with Natalie Feister, youth and family programs and events coordinator at VMFA, who said the free event included performances ranging from dance, music and demonstrations.

"We have our lion dance performances, which are just incredible and vibrant," Feister said. "So we have a wide range of performance types. Guests can even learn Kung-Fu."

Feister said this is the 20th-anniversary celebration of the ChinaFest event at VMFA.

"We've seen this event grow, so it's a huge celebration and we are going to continue doing it for years to come," Feister said.
