PHOTOS: Colonial Heights firefighters save workers trapped on stories-high lift
COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- Firefighters came to the rescue of two workers trapped on an extended lift outside of a Colonial Heights hotel on Tuesday. In the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 5, firefighters with Colonial Heights Fire, EMS & Emergency Management responded to the Hilton Garden Inn for a rescue operation. When they arrived, they found that two workers were trapped on a lift that had malfunctioned, preventing them from getting down. Photos from the scene appear to show that the lift was extended multiple stories high. Firefighters used the ladder on their firetruck to get close to the lift so they could rescue the workers. No injuries were reported by fire officials.
