‘Police activity’ shuts down Chesterfield roadway

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Chesterfield County roadway is shut down in both directions due to "police activity" Saturday evening.
The initial incident was reported just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, on Iron Bridge Road near Old Centralia Road, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
As of 6:07 p.m., all lanes in the area -- both westbound and eastbound -- are closed.
8News has reached out to the Chesterfield County Police Department to learn more about the nature of this "police activity." An update will be provided when possible.
