Police looking for four men who escaped immigration facility in Farmville

PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Farmville Police Department is looking for several men who escaped a detention facility Sunday afternoon. 

According to a Facebook post by the department, four men escaped the Immigration Centers of America (ICA) facility, located at 508 Waterworks Road in the town of Farmville in Prince Edward County on Sunday, March 2. 

The men were described by officials as being Hispanic, in their early 20s and were wearing bright yellow clothing when they escaped. 

Police said the facility and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) consider the men low-risk and were being detained for non-violent offenses. 

The Farmville Police Department said it is increasing its patrolling on Monday, March 3, and the Prince Edward County Sheriff's Office is assisting.  

Police do not believe there is a public safety threat. 

Anyone who sees someone matching the men's description is asked to call 911.
