Police searching for driver who hit child in Albemarle, then fled scene
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A child was hospitalized after a driver hit them in Albemarle County on Thursday, then fled the scene. Authorities, who have since found footage of what may be that driver's car, are asking for the public's help in identifying them.
Between 7:10 and 7:25 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, the driver of a dark blue sedan hit a child in the intersection of Porters Road and King Solomons Lane. That driver then fled the scene, according to the Albemarle County Police Department.
The child was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury to their foot.
On Friday, Sept. 5, police released a photo of the dark blue sedan that was in the area at the time of this crash. It appears to be a still from a dashcam or surveillance footage.

"ACPD would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle pictured that was traveling along Porters Road around the time of the incident," police said.
