Prince George man sentenced to over a decade in prison for possessing meth with intent to distribute
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Prince George County man was sentenced to over a decade in prison for possessing meth with the intent to distribute.
On Thursday, April 10, 39-year-old Robert Damian Atkins was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison for possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
On April 1, 2024, law enforcement searched the residence of Atkins based on prior controlled purchases of narcotics, according to court documents.
During the search, detectives reportedly recovered $10,625, an electronic money counter, a shotgun and three semi-automatic pistols, as well as multiple magazines and boxes of ammunition.
Detectives then searched Atkins vehicle, where they found another pistol and a backpack that contained 191 grams of fentanyl, 112 grams of meth, 84 grams of cocaine, two digital scales and a magazine for a firearm.

In the trunk of the vehicle, officers found a bag containing multiple firearm cartridges, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
An agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arranged to take Atkins into custody on his federal warrant after his court appearance in Prince George County General District Court on Oct. 7, 2024.
However, officials said Atkins fled the courthouse and cut off his GPS ankle monitor after learning of his impending arrest.
According to the DOJ, law enforcement located Atkins later that day in Chesterfield County and took him into custody.
