Prince George students, community members make blankets for children with cancer
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Prince George County Public Schools students hosted an event dedicated to creating handmade blankets for children battling cancer in the Richmond area. On Wednesday, Dec. 18, students with the Future Business Leaders of America club hosted a "Blanket Bonanza" at Prince George High School, according to a press release from the school division. About a dozen students between 9th and 12th grade invited their classmates, parents, community members and more to come together and get crafty. Those who the club assembled used fabrics with various patterns -- like sports, hearts and more -- to construct these blankets, cutting strips along the sides and tying these ends to put the blanket together.
