Richmond Book Festival returns for 4th year to benefit local elementary school

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Book Festival is returning on Saturday, promising a fun-filled day that highlights literacy -- all while supporting a local elementary school.

The fourth-annual Richmond Book Festival is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 19. Hosted by Lois Harrison-Jones Elementary School, this free event is designed to bring the community together while also generating excitement about reading.

There will be live music, kids' activities, face painting and bouncy houses, as well as concessions, according to organizers. Books will be for sale, in addition to a raffle and a silent auction.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Lois Harrison-Jones PTA.

"The festival is our BIGGEST fundraising and community event of the year," organizers said. "Thank you for joining as we celebrate literacy, community and [Lois Harrison-Jones!]"
