Richmond Fire Department welcomes new fire engine into service

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Fire Department will hold a ceremony on Wednesday dedicated to welcoming a new fire engine at Fire Station 19.

The "Push it" ceremony, as the department referred to it, is along-standing tradition with firefighters push the new firetruck into the bay, which marks the start of its service to the community.

This ceremony is the first of two the city will hold this week, according to a spokesperson, and will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m.

The public is welcomed to attend the celebration that looks to highlight the Richmond Fire Department's "ongoing investment in public safety and support for its first responders."
