Richmond holds cemetery beautification days at historic locations
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The City of Richmond is offering two opportunities this spring for residents to get engaged while preserving the city's heritage.
The city's parks and recreation department announced Friday that it's holding cemetery clean-ups at historic locations throughout the city in February and March.
The efforts help residents learn about the cultural significance of Richmond's story while engaging with the community and preserving its heritage, the department said.
Details about the two cemetery beautification days are as follows:
- On Feb. 21 at Barton Heights and Shockoe Hill
- On March 28 at Forest View
Community members ages 16 and above are welcome at the events. Children over 5 years old can also attend with adult supervision.
