Richmond man charged with attempted murder after woman shot in apartment complex
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A Richmond man is facing an attempted murder charge after police say he shot a woman in an apartment complex on Sunday.
According to the Richmond Police Department, officers responded at around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, to an apartment complex in the 3900 block of Chamberlayne Ave. for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a woman who explained that she had been shot by a known male.
Police said that, when officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, he refused to exit the apartment.
Nearly three hours later, the suspect, 33-year-old Adrian Gill of Richmond, was taken into custody at about 10:15 p.m. after exiting the apartment.
Gill was charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling.
