Science Museum of Virginia hosting free beetle pinning for seniors

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Science Museum of Virginia is hosting a free "Senior Science: Beetle Pinning" to show the art and science of beetle pinning for senior citizens.

On April 8 from 8 to 10 a.m., the Science Museum of Virginia, located at 2500 W. Broad St., to explore beetle pinning and work with the museum's scientists on ways to preserve specimens.

"This program is designed to engage seniors 60+ by connecting them to each other, helping them exercise their creativity, encouraging them to discover science all around them and deepening their appreciation of STEM," the event stated.

Space for this event is limited to 40 participants, and registration is required. Through the support of Genworth, Senior Science programs are free and available to the public.
