‘Romeo and Juliet’ star, Olivia Hussey, dies at age 73
(WRIC) -- Acting star, Olivia Hussey Eisley, best known for her roles in 1974's "Black Christmas" and the 1968 film adaptation of Williams Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," reportedly died at the age of 73 on Friday. A social post on Hussey's official Instagram account announced that the British-Argentine actress had died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at her home. "Olivia leaves behind a loving family— her children, Alex, Max, and India, her husband of 35 years David Glen Eisley, and grandson, Greyson, and a legacy of love that will forever be cherished in our hearts," the social post reads. "As we grieve this immense loss, we also celebrate Olivia’s enduring impact on our lives and the industry. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and ask for privacy as we mourn the loss of a truly special soul." After speaking with filmmaker and friend Marc Huestis, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Hussey's cause of death is believed to be cancer.
