Senior alert issued for missing 71-year-old woman out of Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A senior alert was issued by Virginia State Police late Sunday evening for a missing 71-year-old woman out of Richmond.

At 11:35 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, Virginia State Police issued a senior alert on behalf of the Richmond Police Department, who is looking for 71-year-old Phylis Menefee Hening.

Police described Hening as a white woman who stands at about 5-feet-4 inches-tall, with brown eyes and greyish hair.

Hening was reportedly last seen wearing a gray shirt, navy blue pajama pants with multi-colored anchors on them and black shoes. According to officials, she was last seen at 8 p.m. on Dec. 21 on Decatur Street in Richmond.

Police said Hening is believed to be on foot.

Officials provided the following image of Hening to assist the public in finding her.

Hening has a cognitive impairment, and her disappearance poses a credible threat to her health and safety, according to police.
