Several roads to be impacted by Ashland Holiday Parade, leaf removal
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Several roads will be impacted by the Ashland Holiday Parade and leaf removal on Sunday, with vehicle towing for the parade to be enforced earlier that day. According to the Ashland Police Department, the Ashland Holiday Parade will take place on Route 54 and Henry Street at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, with officers to begin closing streets associated with the parade's route at 11 a.m. that day. Roads affected by the parade include Route 54 from Medical Drive to Henry Street, Hanover Avenue between Lee Street and Duncan Street, as well as Henry Street between Route 54 and Archie Cannon Drive. According to police, other streets connecting to the parade route may have limited access. All affected roadways are expected to be reopened by 6 p.m. on Sunday. Drivers are advised to use Ashcake Road as an alternative route to avoid delays. Additionally, the entire length of Henry Street from England Street to Archie Cannon Drive will be closed to parked vehicles. According to officials, Ashland Public Works will begin leaf removal on Henry Street at 6 a.m. on Sunday. Police said vehicles must be moved off Henry Street by 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23. Towing will begin promptly at 9 a.m. on Sunday and be strictly enforced by the Ashland Police Department, according to officials.
