Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Buckingham County

BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Southeastern Buckingham County until 4:15 p.m. this evening.
On Sunday, July, 13 at 3:09 p.m. the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Va. radar indicated, a severe thunderstorm located near Sheppards and Dillwyn area moving southeast at 25 m.p.h.
Impacted areas include Andersonville and Sheppards.
Residents should be cautious of hazardous wind gusts up to 60 m.p.h. and can expect damage to roofs, sidings and trees.
Actions residents can take to prepare for the storm include, preparing for damaging winds. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, and stay away from windows.
Drivers are also urged to slowdown and exercise caution to avoid hydroplaning.
