Some Hanover County residents may experience reduced water pressure

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Some Hanover County residents may experience reduced water pressure on Wednesday.

In a message posted on Facebook at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, Hanover County reported that residents in Ashland and Mechanicsville may notice slightly reduced water pressure, as the county has "trimmed back pressure" to reduce the amount of water it is pulling from Richmond.

According to the county, Hanover's water remains safe as of Wednesday morning, as the water pressure reportedly remains above the threshold that would require a boil water notice.

This comes after the City of Richmond issued a boil water advisory for several neighborhoods on Tuesday, May 27, after multiple water filters at the city's water treatment plant were clogged, causing a decrease in water pressure.

On Tuesday, Hanover County asked residents to conserve water until further notice by turning off automatic irrigation systems.
