State police operation results in 603 felony arrests, drug seizures
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police recently led "Operation Snow Eagle," which the department said has resulted in 603 felony arrests, the recovery of firearms and narcotics as well as the investigation of multiple crimes.
From Feb. 23 to March 1, state police along with other federal, state and local agencies conducted Operation Snow Eagle -- as a collaborative effort to reinforce criminal enforcement across the state of Virginia, according to a release from the department.
The release on Thursday, March, outlined the operation's highlights as follows:
Arrests
- 603 felony arrests, 136 misdemeanor arrests -- including 134 fugitives
- 28 probation/ parole absconders
Warrants
- 111 search warrants executed
Interdiction Operations
- 133 total interdictions -- operations to disrupt illegal activities such as drug trafficking
Fugitive Operations
- 42 total operations involving fugitives
Total Narcotic Seizures
- A total of 419.49 pounds of narcotics seized, as well as 1,202 controlled substance pills
- Denied revenue from narcotics seized estimated to be valued at $11,564,523
Breakdown of Narcotics Seized
- Fentanyl:
- 685,016 lethal doses
- 3 pounds of powder
- 1,166 pills
- One pill press
- Cocaine: 201.5 pounds
- Marijuana: 193.4 pounds
- Methamphetamine: 4.7 pounds
- Mushrooms: 10.5 pounds
- Hashish: 5.7 pounds
Firearms Recovered
- 106 firearms total
Money and Assets Seized
- $237,318
- Five vehicles
State police said the mission of this operation is to improve public safety and support efforts toward reducing violent crimes across the state.
