StormTracker 8: Quiet for the work week
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - We will see a mixture of sun and clouds to partly sunny skies across Central Virginia today and it will be a comfortably cool day with highs in the upper 60s.Tonight, we will have partly cloudy skies and there might be a little patchy fog by early tomorrow morning with lows around 50. Tuesday will be a fantastic day for election day with highs in the middle 70s under partly sunny skies. Wednesday will also be very nice with highs near 80 under partly sunny skies.Thursday will feature a few more clouds and there might be a spotty shower with highs again near 80. Friday will be a touch cooler with highs in the lower 70s under partly sunny skies.Looking ahead to the weekend it looks like we might have a few more clouds for both Saturday and Sunday and there might be a spotty shower on Sunday. Highs will be in the upper 60s to near 70. Tracking the tropics:We are looking at a system in the Southern Caribbean which is now Tropical Depression 18 and has winds of 35 mph. Over the next 24 to 48 hours, we do expect this will become Tropical Storm Rafael and possibly a hurricane crossing Western Cuba by the middle of the week. From that point on it will slide into the Western Gulf and make a run toward Louisiana and Texas as a tropical storm by the weekend.
