StormTracker8: A slow and steady warming trend through Wednesday

Richmond, Va (WRIC) -- Clear skies will be with us for this evening and tonight and it will be cold with lows around 10 throughout Metro Richmond but many areas will drop back into the upper single digits.

Monday will be sunny and we will finally climb above freezing as our high temperatures top out in the upper 30s.

Tuesday will feature partly sunny skies, and it will be milder with highs near 55.

More clouds will be with us for Wednesday, but it still will be mild with highs again near 55.

That mild weather will not last that long as we will see our high temperatures drop into the middle 40s for Thursday under partly sunny skies.

It will even be cooler for Friday with highs around 40 under mostly cloudy skies.

As our attention turns to the upcoming weekend there are some signs of a pretty significant storm possibly heading toward the mid-Atlantic. Right now, it is too early to say exactly what that storm will bring but for many it does look like a very cold rain and for some possibly in the northern Shenandoah Valley it could be some snow. But there are several days to watch how this storm will possibly develop and how the weather patterns will change which will give us a better idea of to what to expect for Valentine's Day weekend.
