StormTracker8: Final cold night for awhile; seasonable day on Monday

RICHMOND, Va (WRIC) - We will see quite the warming trend for the first full week of January 2026, details below.

Tonight’s forecast for Sunday night into Monday morning, calls for partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures, getting down into the upper 20s.

Tomorrow’s forecast for Monday calls for partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies, and seasonable temperatures, rising to around 50 degrees.

Tomorrow night into Tuesday morning, calls for partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, and not as cold temperatures, only getting down to around 40 degrees.

Tuesday begins what will be a prolonged mild stretch of weather for the region, as moisture out of the Western Atlantic Ocean heads into our area, leading to increasing temperatures. Tuesday we will see partly sunny skies, breezy conditions from time to time and mild temperatures, rising to around 60 degrees.

Wednesday will bring us partly sunny skies and mild temperatures, rising to around 65 degrees, despite the fact that we will see a weather system sweep through the region, that looks to be moisture starved, so unfortunately, no rainfall for the Wednesday weather system.

Thursday will bring us partly sunny skies and mild temperatures, rising to around 60 degrees.

Friday will be very mild, under mostly cloudy skies, and highs around 70 degrees, with showers developing by Friday night.

Saturday appears to be a wet day, right now, based on the latest computer weather model information, with scattered showers, under partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s.

Finally, next Sunday and next Monday, both call for partly sunny skies and cooler temperatures, back to seasonable to below seasonable conditions.
