StormTracker8: Scattered storms today, 4pm-12am

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – We will continue to see very warm and muggy conditions in the near term. All eyes are on Invest 94L. Details below.

Today’s forecast on this Wednesday, calls for mostly cloudy skies, very warm temperatures, rising into the middle 80s to upper 80s, muggy conditions persisting and scattered showers and thunderstorms from approximately 4:00 p.m. this afternoon through Midnight tonight.

Tonight’s forecast calls for another muggy overnight period, with temperatures only dipping down into the upper 60s, under mostly cloudy skies and isolated showers and thunderstorms possible.

Thursday’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies tomorrow, very warm temperatures once again, with highs in the middle 80s, muggy conditions persisting and widespread showers and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening hours.

Friday, the entire upcoming weekend, and next Monday, all bring a scattered chance for showers and thunderstorms each of these afternoons and evenings, with afternoon temperatures going back down to average, in the upper 70s.

These thunderstorms the next several afternoons and evenings could produce locally heavy downpours, gusty winds, frequent lightning and small hail.

Just like on Tuesday, this Wednesday, I have put Watching Very Closely on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday on the 8-day forecast graphic, due to watching Invest 94L very closely, which may bring increasing tropical moisture to the region, leading to tropical downpours and windy conditions possible.
