StormTracker8: Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 9pm

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for most of Central Virginia until 9pm. Thunderstorms will develop over the next couple of hours and they will have the ability to produce damaging winds and locally heavy downpours.

Today, we're jumping right back into the heat of summer. Skies will be mostly sunny and high temperatures will be in the upper 90s.

We have a heat advisory, as "feels like" temperatures will be between 105 and 110.

This evening, mainly from 4-10pm, central Virginia will see isolated showers and thunderstorms. These will be fairly short lived, but some could be strong.

Overnight we will have partly cloudy skies that will clear in the early hours of Wednesday. The rest of this week will be warm and humid, but it's not expected to be quite as hot as today. Each day we will have the chance for evening thunderstorms.
