StormTracker8: Sunshine filled Tuesday; Ringing in 2026 on a cool note

RICHMOND, Va (WRIC) - You'll want to keep your jacket and a few layers on hand. Temperatures throughout the day will slightly warm near 40 under sunny skies.

New Year's Eve will still be cool with highs in the mid 40s during the day. Wednesday night will be cold again. Temperatures to start the evening will be in the mid to upper 30s dipping down to near freezing when the clock strikes 12:00.

We will welcome 2026 under partly sunny skies with daytime temperatures in the low 40s.

Friday will have highs in the mid 40s and mostly cloudy skies. This will keep Friday night a bit warmer with temperatures reaching near 30.

Skies will clear slightly for both Saturday and Sunday. Daytime temperatures will be cool in the low 40s and our nights will get cold again back into the mid 20s.

Temperatures will "warm" back into the upper 40s for the start of next week on Monday and Tuesday under partly sunny skies.
