StormTracker8: VIPIR Alert for Monday for icy roads

Richmond, Va. (WRIC) -- Here are some snowfall reports from the ongoing Winter Storm, that we have gotten so far.

Sleet and freezing rain will continue this evening but come to an end before midnight. After midnight we will have cloudy to mostly cloudy skies across central Virginia. Our overnight lows will remain in the middle 20s.

Mostly sunny skies will develop on Monday, and it will be breezy and cold with highs ranging from 30 to 35.

Arctic air will come sliding in for Monday night and early Tuesday Morning in fact we could see our overnight lows into Tuesday Morning in the single digits but with the breeze wind chills will be from 0 to -5.

Tuesday will be a sunny day, but it will remain very cold with highs in the middle 20s.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we will see partly sunny skies across Central Virginia and that arctic air will remain with highs in the middle 20s.

As we turn our attention to the upcoming weekend, the one system that we continue to watch looks to be far enough off the coast to not be a factor in our weather at this time. So, for now we are looking at partly sunny skies for Saturday and Sunday with highs in the middle 20s on Saturday and around 30 for Sunday.

Heading into early February, we will continue to see below average temperatures.
