StormTracker8: VIPIR Alert for Winter Storm Friday
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – All eyes are on the First Winter Storm of the season set to impact Central Virginia throughout our Friday to end out this current work week.
Tonight’s forecast for this Thursday night into Friday morning, calls for increasing clouds overnight and cold temperatures, dipping back down through the 30s and down into the middle to upper 20s by Friday morning.
Light to moderate snow will be breaking out after the Midnight hour tonight and last throughout the morning half of our Friday, in association with our latest weather system that will be sliding through the Mid-Atlantic Region.

For a good swath of the region, we are looking at anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of accumulating snowfall when it is all set and done tomorrow afternoon.
Temperatures on Friday will be struggling throughout the 30s, so definitely conducive for accumulating snowfall.
The snow across Central Virginia, and the wintry mix and cold rain for Hampton Roads will be ending around 1pm to 4pm Friday afternoon as the weather system pushes away from the region altogether.
The upcoming weekend will be quiet and chilly.
Next Monday and next Tuesday will be even colder, on the back end of a dry cold frontal passage slated for Sunday night into Monday morning.
Quiet and cool conditions are on tap for us all of next work week.
