RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Vampire Circus is inviting those in the Greater Richmond Region to what they are describing as "the magical mystique" of the Vampire World in October.

The production -- which combines circus cabaret and theater -- will come to the Dominion Energy Center on Saturday, Oct. 4, for a night of multidisciplinary skills featuring international performers.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 18.

The 90-minute show is said to showcase theater, dance and gymnastics, as well as offer attendees the experience of acrobatics, comical audience interactions, contortionists, jugglers and clowns.

Envisioned by Francisco Santos, CEO founder and Cirque Du Soleil veteran performer, The Vampire Circus was reportedly inspired by legendary traveling carnivals.

Set in Bohemia during the 19th century, the production sees Count Dracula considering a plan for world domination. He later decides to open a traveling circus with his bodyguards, according to a release.

"The Vampire Circus is a perfect cover-up to travel unnoticed and begin his world reign of terror and turn all humans into an army of vampires for global dominance," the release reads. "The Vampire Circus is a journey that takes audiences into an immersive experience, plunging guests into a deep hypnotic state while 'breaking the fourth wall."
