Three dogs killed in Chesterfield house fire
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Three dogs were killed in a Chesterfield County house fire Wednesday afternoon.
Just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, firefighters with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to the 5300 block of Sandy Ridge Court for report of a house fire.
When they arrived, firefighters found heavy smoke pouring from the home.

Crews were able to put out the flames in about half an hour, fire officials said.
While no firefighters or civilians were hurt in the fire, three dogs tragically died. Two people were displaced by the fire's damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
