Three without a home after late night house fire in Petersburg
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Three adults are displaced after a fire tore through their Petersburg home late Thursday night. Just after 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, firefighters with Petersburg Fire-Rescue were called to West Chester Drive for report of a house fire. When they arrived, they found a two-story home with visible smoke coming from the house. According to fire officials, firefighters battled the main body of the fire -- then found it had spread to another part of the home. The multiple crews at the scene worked together to put out all of the flames. Though no injuries were reported, three adults were displaced by the fire's damage to the home. They are being assisted by the Red Cross. "This is a tough situation for the family, especially during the holiday season," fire officials said on Facebook.
