Tractor-trailer driver seriously hurt in New Kent crash, clean-up to take hours

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A driver was seriously injured when a tractor-trailer overturned on Pocahontas Trail Tuesday afternoon. According to Virginia State Police (VSP), at 2:11 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 4100 block of Pocahontas Trail (Route 60) in New Kent, just west of the Toe Ink Wayside rest stop. (Photo: Virginia State Police) When they arrived, state troopers found a tractor-trailer that had overturned and spilled its contents onto the roadway. The driver was the only person in the vehicle. They were taken to the hospital with injuries that are considered serious. According to VSP, clean-up is expected to take more than three hours.
