Trash pickups missed in Colonial Heights due to extreme heat
COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- Trash pickup in Colonial Heights during the last week of June was impacted by extreme heat, with some residents not having their trash collected.
Central Virginia saw temperatures of 100 degrees or higher and heat indexes of nearly 115 during the week of Sunday, June 22.
This high heat reportedly caused problems for the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA), according to the city of Colonial Heights. Due to heat issues with route technology equipment, the CVWMA missed some of its trash collections in the city this week.
