Two Chesterfield teachers facing dozens of child sex abuse charges
COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- A Chesterfield County Public Schools teacher previously accused of taking photos of a juvenile in a Colonial Heights movie theater's restroom is now facing more than two dozen child sex abuse charges. Additionally, a second arrest has been made, with a Chesterfield early education teacher now accused of similar crimes.
At about 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, officers with the Colonial Heights Police Department were called to the Regal Cinemas at 300 Southpark Circle for report of a person taking photos of a juvenile in a restroom.
According to police, 49-year-old Shaun Jason Adams of Petersburg was arrested and charged with one count of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in connection with this incident.
Adams is a teacher at Chesterfield County Public Schools -- though the school division previously told 8News that he would not return for the 2025-26 school year pending the adjudication of these accusations.
