Two displaced after back porch fire spreads into attic of Chesterfield home
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two Chesterfield County residents are without a home after a back porch fire spread up into their house's attic.
Just after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to a home in the 3300 block of New Found Lane for report of a fire.
When they arrived, firefighters found that a fire believed to have started on the back porch had spread to the home and up into the attic.
Crews put the fire out in about 40 minutes, according to fire officials. No one was injured.
Two people have been displaced by the fire's damage. They are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
