Two displaced after fire in vacant building spreads to their Richmond home
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Two Richmond residents are without a home after a fire in a neighboring vacant building spread and damaged their house Tuesday evening.
At about 5:48 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, crews with the Richmond Fire Department were called to the 2200 block of Y Street for report of a structure fire.
When they arrived, firefighters found a building that was burning heavily.
A spokesperson for Richmond Fire told 8News that the building was vacant at the time, as it had actually caught fire previously and repairs have yet to be made.

However, the flames from Tuesday's fire spread to a neighboring home, causing damage to its side and within its attic. That damage displaced the home's two residents.
