PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Two people are in the hospital in unknown condition after a tree fell on an occupied car in Petersburg on Thursday. That tree also took down power lines, sparking a brush fire. On the afternoon of Thursday, Dec. 5, crews with Petersburg Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services were called to a home in the 700 block of Old Wagner Road following reports of a tree falling on an occupied vehicle. When firefighters arrived, they found a passenger vehicle with a tree down on it, as well as live powerlines. Two people were found on the road outside of the vehicle. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. According to a city spokesperson, their condition is not known at this time.
