VA250 Mobile Museum Experience stops at Virginia State Capitol in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- VA250's Mobile Museum Experience stopped at the Virginia State Capitol in Richmond on Wednesday, where visitors learned about key stories of the Commonwealth's history.

VA250 commemorates the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the Revolutionary War, and the independence of the U.S. in Virginia.

The VA250 Mobile Museum Experience stopped at the Virginia State Capitol on Wednesday, Feb. 25, offering the public a hands-on, interactive and immersive exhibit called "Out of Many, One."

The mobile museum is housed in a quad-expandable tractor-trailer that travels throughout Virginia and beyond.

8News spoke to Ashley Miller, a Northern Virginia resident, on Wednesday about her experience at the mobile exhibit among other visitors.

"It's a brilliant idea, seeing people that are going to the Capitol, if they really want to know our history, they can come immediately after and realize this is what's happening, but it all occurred because of what our founders did 250 years ago," Miller said.

Miller added that the exhibit's mobility and immersive elements make it unique.

"So, I think it's an incredible opportunity to come to the Capitol and then see the richness of Virginia displayed in a very small, compartmentalized place, but it makes history come alive," Miller said.

The mobile museum hit the road on Jan. 18 in Roanoke, with more stops scheduled throughout the Commonwealth through June. To see upcoming stops, visit VA250's website.
