VCU Police investigating after three people were reportedly robbed in parking deck near campus

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Police is investigating after three people were reportedly robbed in a parking deck near the university's Monroe Park campus early Sunday morning. According to a VCU alert shared with the public, at 2:53 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8., VCU Police was advised of a delayed report of a robbery. Police said the robbery occurred at around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday in the parking deck of the Coliseum Lofts, located at 1359 W. Broad St., where three victims were reportedly approached by two males who both displayed firearms and demanded their belongings. According to VCU Police, both of the suspects were described as Black men in their 20s wearing dark clothing. Police said they were believed to have left the area in a dark-colored vehicle traveling east on West Broad Street. VCU Police is leading the investigation and have increased patrols in the area.
