VCU police seek information, pictures, videos in Halloween night assault

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) police is seeking information, pictures and videos in connection to an aggravated assault that took place on Halloween night. According to VCU police, the department is looking for more information, such as photos and videos, in connection to an aggravated assault that occurred on Halloween night, Oct. 31, outside of a private restaurant at the 700 block of West Cary Street. The victim reported that they were waiting outside of the restaurant at around 11:30 p.m. when they were assaulted by unknown individuals. Police said the victim had significant injuries to their face, and was later discharged from VCU Medical Center. Investigators with VCU police are seeking any information, which includes cell phone photos and videos, in an effort to identify the suspects responsible. Based on information provided to police, it is believed that numerous people filmed the assault and have distributed some of it on multiple social media platforms.
