According to VCUarts Theatre, the story follows Vaudevillian performers Queenie and Burrs as they host a party like no other. Set in the Roaring '20s, the musical was inspired by a poem of the same name written in 1928 by Joseph Moncure March. It is said to explore themes of jealousy, violence, overindulgence and extravagance.
