Victim identified in I-64 shooting in Richmond, state police investigating
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police has provided an update in the shooting on Interstate 64 in Richmond. At 11:38 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, a shooting took place on I-64 West in Richmond near the Staples Mill exit. According to VSP, state troopers responded to the scene of the incident after the report of a shooting that took place in which a person in one vehicle shot at another vehicle. Police identified one of the victims as 40-year-old Calvin W. Carter Jr. of Henrico County. He was taken to VCU Medical Center in critical condition from gunshot wounds. Police said there has not been any further threat to the public. The shooting is still under investigation.
