Virginia Capital Trail to celebrate 10 years with two nights of festivities
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Virginia Capital Trail is celebrating 10 years in October with two nights of festivities and community.
According to a Wednesday release, the trail will turn 10 on Thursday, Oct. 2, with two birthday celebrations -- one at each end of the trail that weekend.
The birthday celebrations will take place on Friday, Oct. 3, at Billsburg Brewery in Williamsburg, and Saturday, Oct. 4, at Triple Crossing Beer in Fulton in Richmond.
Tickets are $65 per person, with an 8-pack available for $600, which includes recognition in the program and a raffle entry, according to a release.
Per the release, each of these days includes complimentary beverages, a commemorative 10th anniversary pint glass and dinner -- BBQ and sides in Williamsburg or wood-fired pizza and appetizers in Richmond.
“The Virginia Capital Trail is such a tremendous asset to our communities and region. From daily commutes and outdoor adventures to driving trail development and inspiring new business ventures, we’re incredibly proud of the impact the Trail has made,” said Cat Anthony, Executive Director of the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation. “As we celebrate this milestone, we’re honored to reflect on the vision that brought the Trail to life and excited to focus on what’s ahead as we work to extend the Trail to Williamsburg and beyond.”
The Trail said ticket prices will increase after Aug. 20, and all proceeds support the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation’s work to protect, enhance, and grow the Virginia Capital Trail.
