Virginia-grown Christmas trees, wreaths delivered to Governor’s mansion
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia-grown Christmas trees and wreaths have been delivered to Virginia's Executive Mansion, home to Governor Glenn Youngkin, for the holiday season. According to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the trees and wreaths are from the Virginia Christmas Tree Growers Association. Clouse's Pine Hill Farm delivered a 12-foot Fraser tree, a 14-foot tree and several wreaths to decorate the mansion. After the trees and wreaths were presented, Yougnkin presented the Clouse family and the association with a proclamation naming December as Virginia Christmas Tree Month. "Thank you to the Clouse family and the Virginia Christmas Tree Growers Association for the beautiful Virginia Grown Christmas trees and wreaths that will decorate the Executive Mansion this holiday season," Youngkin said. " As part of the Commonwealth's agriculture and forestry industries, Christmas tree farming is an important contributor to Virginia’s economy, and we are proud to display this locally grown greenery.” According to the department, there are more than 480 Christmas tree farms in Virginia.
