Voting open for 2025 BLK RVA Community Awards

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- You can cast your vote for who you believe deserves a 2025 BLK RVA Community Award through the end of July.

On Friday, June 27, the Richmond Region Tourism Foundation announced the finalists for the 2025 BLK RVA Community Awards. These awards aim to celebrate Black businesses, individuals and initiatives across the Richmond region, according to a press release from the foundation.

Award nominations opened back in early May and closed on May 23.

There are two awards up for grabs this year: the Rising Community Impact Award and the Rooted Community Impact Award.

The Rising Community Impact Award is given to emerging Black businesses, individuals or initiatives that are bringing fresh and authentic experiences to the region, representing a bright future for Black Richmond.

The Rooted Community Impact Award is given to Black businesses, individuals or initiatives that have been integral to the community for over a decade, creating a long-lasting legacy in Black Richmond.

Finalists for the Rising Community Impact Award include:

  • Black Creatives RVA 
  • Elephant House Foundation 
  • Henrico County’s Recreation and Parks – Juneteenth Celebration 
  • Hour Cycle Studio 
  • Ladies Golf Too 
  • Transformative Changes 
  • RVA Black Farmers Market 
  • Victoria’s Kitchen Kids Cooking School

Finalists for the Rooted Community Impact Award include:

  • Atlantic Outreach Group 
  • DJ Ease - Alleviative Productions 
  • Faith Walker - RVA Rapid Transit 
  • Fit-2-Go — Fit 2 Give — Fitness Warriors 
  • Henrico County Branch NAACP 
  • JP Jumpers Foundation 
  • Richmond Night Market 
  • St. Luke Legacy Center Foundation, Inc. 
  • The Network Incubator

Public voting for the awards is open until through July 25 and the awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 22 at the Hippodrome Theater. The ceremony will feature live entertainment, presentations and special guest appearances.
