VSP prevents over $10 million in illegal narcotics sales in just one week
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police (VSP) prevented over $10 million in illegal narcotics from being sold in just one week as part of its ongoing crime suppression initiative.
In partnership with local and federal agencies, VSP continues to carry out crime suppression operations throughout the state. On Friday, June 13, the agency provided a new weekly report on these efforts.
From Thursday, June 5 to Wednesday, June 11, state troopers seized just over 5 pounds of illegal narcotics and 3,000 controlled substance pills. Specifically, they recovered 3.4 pounds of cocaine, 1.1 pounds of marijuana, 8 ounces of fentanyl, 5.2 ounces of methamphetamine, 1.4 ounces of crack cocaine and 3,000 fentanyl pills.
According to state police, the denied revenue from these seized narcotics is estimated to be $10,442,919.

Additionally, state troopers recovered 14 firearms valued at $7,000 and a little over $3,000 in U.S. currency.

"By working in close collaboration with local, state and federal agencies, law enforcement continues to disrupt criminal enterprises and safeguard communities."
