HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico County residents impacted by ongoing water issues throughout the Greater Richmond region can get free bottled water at specific locations. In the wake of a malfunction at Richmond's city reservoir system on Monday, Jan. 6, the city itself and the counties of Henrico, Hanover and Chesterfield have been dealing with a variety of issues with their water services. "Henrico’s issues with water distribution came after Monday’s winter storm caused a power outage and flooding at the city of Richmond’s water treatment facility," county officials said in a press release. "To prevent untreated water from reaching the county’s customers, Henrico proactively disconnected its feeds from the city system and began to serve all users from the Water Treatment Facility on Three Chopt Road. The issues were further complicated by a water main break that occurred Tuesday on Rollingview Drive in Sandston." Those sites include: Eastern Government Center, 3820 Nine Mile RD. Will also offer one case of bottled water per family Henrico Area Mental Health & Developmental Services East Center, 3908 Nine Mile Rd. Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 N. Laburnum Ave. Tankers will be at these locations starting Tuesday afternoon, according to the county. Residents must bring their own containers in order to collect water.
