Winners of Richmond Flying Squirrels’ opening night ticket lottery chosen

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Squirrels fans, check your email! The lucky fans chosen in the first round of the Richmond Flying Squirrels' opening night ticket lottery only have a limited time to claim their seats.

The Richmond Flying Squirrels will kick off their 2026-27 baseball season at the brand new CarMax Park on April 7. Due to high demand for tickets, anyone interested in attending was asked to enter a ticket lottery.

The lottery closed at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27. A spokesperson for the Squrriels said nearly 30,000 people had entered by that point.

The afternoon of Tuesday, March 2, the Squirrels announced that the first round of lucky winners should have received an email about how they can purchase their opening night tickets.

If you were selected, you have a 24-hour buying window to purchase up to four tickets. Per the Squirrels, this window opened up at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Squirrels fans are encouraged to check their inboxes -- especially their spam folders -- to make sure they don't miss their opportunity to snag their tickets.

Based on the size of the first round, a second round of winners will be chosen, per the Squirrels spokesperson. Additional rounds may also be selected.
